Hi, I will be publishing a book soon and need some advice. It is a non-fiction memoir, which is based on factual events. The book mentions the internet site 'Gumtree'. Without getting too deep into the synopsis of the book, the author places an ad on Gumtree and then meets up with a man and a dreadful experience happens to her. It is a true story, but I'm worried that Gumtree might sue for libel. The name Gumtree is only mentioned once in the book. Can anyone help me there?
Also, is it OK to mention a product like Coca Cola in conversation without putting the Trademark sign? It would kind of defeat the purpose of mentioning it, if the symbol has to be put in.
Cheers!
