Dear All,
I am intending to have some postcards printed in the next few weeks.
I am asking people to submit their photographs and the best will be made into postcards, the proceeds going to the local primary school.
If I have these printed professionally, who then owns the copyright to the image? The original photographer?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
James.

Yes. Copyright will belong to the photographers. (Unless of course the photographers have entered into an contract in which they transfer the copyright to you - but I guess not as you are here
).
I would recommend that you obtain consent in writing from the photographers for the use - a simple slip/page explaining how the images will be used wthat the photographers can sign should be fine.
