I'm going to design some posters and I have a question about the copyright law of modifying the typeface.

This is the thing. I type in the font with the font software and then make it a picture. And then I do some modification with this picture in AI. I noticed that the term of typeface protection is 25 years in England. Is it okay for me to edit the fonts in a picture format, just like this http://take.ms/22xDs . Is there anyone can help me with this question? Thank you very much!

Technically what you propose would be making a derivative work, so would require permission, assuming that the original typeface was still in copyright. However since the normal day-to-day use of typefaces in digital media can inevitably lead to distortions, although perhaps not as extreme as the one you have shown, I doubt if this would be a problem with a conventional typeface, just those which are particularly distinctive.
If in doubt, I would advise you to seek permission for what you want to do.
