I'm looking at supplying t-shirts via an online store. If i was to use a band's logo or name or a logo sign from a movie, do i need to get permission?

Yes you would.

You should of course contact the band or movie distributor for permission before you undertake such a venture.

You should also expect that they will either:
1. Refuse you.
2. Require that you pay them royalties on every shirt you sell.
