Thank you, Andy. I think it slipped past my radar initially because of art galleries, auction houses and places like ebay all showing images of framed pictures for sale. Do you think copyright owners turn a blind eye if they know the image is going to be online for a temporary period only and for ...

Copyright issues re a picture framing web site
I’m a website designer. I’ve created and manage a web site for a picture framer. I've since realised that there may be a copyright issue with what he's asked me to do.
He buys, mounts, frames and sells all the following as framed pictures. Alternatively, some are just mounted (no glass or frame ...

Publishing extracts from a printed facsimile
I'm wondering if I can legitimately publish extracts from a facsimile of a book, which was printed in 1987. There is no claim to copyright on any of the pages. The original book was published in 1902 and reprinted in 1904. Internet searching says the author died in 1931.

Embedding Facebook into a web site
Hello, I'm in the UK and I've a question about Facebook pages which I'd be grateful if someone could clarify.
Facebook provides the facility to embed individual public posts into a web site. Facebook says: " Embedded Posts let you add any public post from Facebook to your blog or web site ." Up to ...

Many thanks for your reply, and for the links. It was very helpful and I'll also spend some time studying the links. It does sound as if I'll have to be extremely careful about covering myself. Thanks again.
PS. Sorry for the late response to your reply - I would have responded sooner but I didn't ...

Selling CDs on web site
May I request some advice please.
If I wanted to sell CDs online, what are the copyright implications? They would be CDs recorded by other people, and I would just be providing an online sales outlet on my own web site.
I'm thinking that there might be two issues.
Firstly, if they themselves ...

That's really helpful and thanks for taking the time to explain that. The first publisher is definitely in the US; I'm not sure about the second one.
I'll contact the publishers again to clarify that I'm in the UK and to see if they back down, but if not... well there's no point starting a battle ...

Old sheet music
Hi
I've got quite a lot of original sheet music which was mostly published in the first half of the last century. I don't want to part with it, but I'm wondering if I would be able to list it on a web site and make it available for downloading? It's mostly well-known song music such as Somewhere ...
